East Thurrock’s first team put in a strong and spirited performance to claim a well-earned 4-2 win away at Harold Wood AFC.
The Rocks took an early lead through Bailey Morris, who showed real composure in front of goal, slotting home coolly after a well-weighted assist from Faith Segemani. Harold Wood responded with a goal of their own to level the score, but East Thurrock hit back almost immediately. Harry Salter rose highest in the box to meet a cross and sent a looping header beyond the keeper to restore the lead.
Half-Time: Harold Wood 1 – 2 East Thurrock
After the break, Harold Wood were awarded their second penalty of the afternoon, which they converted to make it 2 – 2. But East Thurrock weren’t to be denied. Bobby Reeman found the net to make it 3 – 2, before Ross Barnes wrapped up the scoring with a tidy finish to put the game out of reach.
It was a strong team display with some excellent football played throughout, and four different goal scorers showing the attacking strength in the squad.
A big thank you to all the travelling Rocks fans who came to support the team – your backing means everything.
