East Thurrock travelled to Southend Manor for this evening’s fixture, with an unexpected start as no refreshments were available on arrival – despite being informed otherwise. Supporters had to make their own arrangements.
On the pitch, the Rocks started brightly. A free kick and corner came early, and a powerful strike in the 14th minute smashed off the crossbar. But it was Southend Manor who took the lead in the 16th minutes from a corner.
The hosts were reduced to 10 men in the 27th minute after a red card for violent conduct, and the Rocks quickly took control. Archie was a constant threat down the left, delivering a string of dangerous balls. Just before the break, Marcus headed home from a corner to level the score. HT: SM 1 – 1 ETCFC.
The second half saw the Rocks dominate. Barnes and Daly both went close, with Daly particularly lively, testing the keeper multiple times. Despite creating plenty of chances, ETCFC couldn’t find the winner.
The match ended 1 – 1 – a strong showing, especially after going behind.
Thank you to all our travelling supporters for your backing! #COYR #ETCFC
