This week Romford have moved into Rookery Hill Stadium. We as a working group are still looking at multiple options for where we play next year.
At this early stage it was not viable to commit to financing the renting of the Rookery Hill facilities long term. Where we play next season will depend on what is financially affordable, as the long term sustainability of the club must underpin all decisions. As always we will keep you up to date with everything going on with our weekly updates.
As East Thurrock CFC grows, the committee will keep infrastructure under review, to ensure we have playing facilities to match the club’s ambitions of playing in the Isthmian North for the 2030/31 season.
All East Thurrock fans can appreciate how much it hurts to lose a football club. Romford have been been homeless since 2001, this must have been tough for all those involved. We wish them all the best in getting back to playing at their own stadium in Romford within the next five years.
